Description

The Continental EcoContact 6 is a summer tire designed for fuel efficiency and safety, offering improvements over its predecessor in rolling resistance, mileage, handling, and braking distances. It features Green Chili™ 2.0 compound for increased mileage and a tailor-made tread pattern for optimized grip and handling. The EcoContact 6 also incorporates technologies like SSR (Self Supporting Runflat) technology for extended mobility and ContiSeal for sealing punctures.

Key Features and Technologies:
  • Fuel Efficiency and Rolling Resistance:
The EcoContact 6 utilizes a high-tech silica compound and optimized component geometry to reduce rolling resistance, leading to lower fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.

  • Mileage and Wear:
The Green Chili™ 2.0 compound is designed to minimize tire wear, allowing for increased mileage compared to previous models.

  • Grip and Handling:
The tailor-made tread pattern is engineered to deliver optimized grip and handling performance on both wet and dry surfaces.

  • ContiSeal Technology:
This technology involves a sticky, viscous sealant layer within the tire that can seal punctures caused by objects up to 5mm in diameter, reducing the need for immediate roadside tire changes.

  • SSR reinforces the sidewall, allowing the tire to continue operating for a limited distance even after a puncture, eliminating the need for a spare tire and potentially increasing storage space.

  • A variant of the EcoContact 6 that includes an upgraded tread pattern designed to reduce noise emissions, providing a quieter ride.

Performance:
  • Dry Conditions:
The EcoContact 6 generally performs well in dry conditions, offering good grip and handling, with comfortable and quiet driving.

  • Wet Conditions:
While acceptable in wet braking, the tire can exhibit some limitations in wet grip, especially during acceleration and in heavier rain, with some reports of aquaplaning.
